General Electric (NYSE:GE) is a behemoth of a company. Although its market capitalization has declined by more than half over the past year, as the firm has become steeped in controversy and concerns that its continued decline is inevitable, the business is still, operationally, a major player on the global stage. One part of the company rarely spoken about but which plays a significant role in the firm’s long-term strategy is what’s called GE Capital Aviation Services, or GECAS for short. This sub-segment, if you will, has been a source of real value for General Electric shareholders over the years, and it could prove to be a source of added value in the years to come.
