DLA Piper announced today that Eric Hagen has joined the firm's Intellectual Property and Technology practice as a partner in Los Angeles.

Hagen, who will be a member of the Patent Litigation subgroup of the IPT practice, represents companies in complex commercial disputes involving patents, trade secrets, trademarks, copyrights, unfair competition claims and related matters. He has successfully represented clients in a number of industries, including life sciences, smartphone, disk drive, semiconductor, advertising, financial services, apparel, sports and entertainment.

"His experience spans a wide range of sectors, enhancing our capabilities in a number of key areas and strengthening our global platform."

Hagen joins DLA Piper from McDermott Will & Emery LLP, where he was head of the Trade Secrets practice. He earned his law degree and bachelor's degree from Pepperdine University and a master's degree from Dartmouth College. He also serves as an adjunct law professor, teaching an advanced IP course at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.
