DLA Piper Finance partner Arleen Nand, who is based in the firm's Minneapolis office, has received the National Association of Women Lawyers' (NAWL) annual Virginia S. Mueller Outstanding Member Award. The award honors lawyers who have gone above and beyond to support the organization's mission of advancing the position of women in the legal profession.

Nand has taken on leadership roles on numerous NAWL program planning committees, operational committees, task forces and affinity groups. She was presented with the award, which is named for a former president of NAWL, at the organization's annual meeting and awards luncheon at the Grand Hyatt in New York on July 19, 2018.

Nand's practice focuses on complex, cross-border financings. She was also recently recognized as a "rising star" among top Minnesota lawyers by Super Lawyers, along with Corporate partner Poonam Kumar and senior Litigation associate Peter Farrell, both of the Minneapolis office as well.
