NBC News and MSNBC’s Rashida Jones to Emcee CREW New York 40th Anniversary Gala

8/1/18

Rashida Jones, Senior Vice President of News Specials for NBC News and MSNBC, will emcee CREW New York’s 40th Anniversary fundraising Gala on Thursday, October 4, 2018, 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., at the Edison Ballroom (240 West 47th Street) in New York City.

The event, based on the theme of “Celebrating Yesterday, Shaping Tomorrow,” will feature a VIP reception, cocktail reception, formal dinner, silent auction and ceremony honoring industry leaders to be announced shortly.

“I’m delighted to be a part of CREW New York’s landmark celebration,” Jones says. “In my nearly 20 years in local and national news, I’ve been excited to see the advancement of women in so many industries. I’m looking forward to hearing more about how CREW New York has helped women in real estate.”

At NBC News and MSNBC, Jones leads breaking news and major event coverage for both networks. Previously, she served as Managing Editor for MSNBC’s Dayside programming, driving the editorial decision-making and coverage for the network. Prior to joining MSNBC, she was the News Director for the NBC affiliate in Columbia, S.C., where she rebuilt and rebranded the news team to focus on deep investigative reporting. The station was solidly #1 in the market.

She also was Director of Live Programming at The Weather Channel, leading coverage and programming for some of the network’s most historic weather events–Hurricane Katrina, mass tornado outbreaks and paralyzing snow storms.

“We’re thrilled that Rashida Jones has agreed to emcee our anniversary gala,” says Jaimee Nardiello, 2018 CREW New York President and a Partner with Zetlin & De Chiara LLP. “As a leader in journalism, she’s pioneered new paths. We can’t wait to introduce her to the pioneers in our industry, and how we’re supporting the next generation of leaders.”

Proceeds from the Gala will make it possible for CREW New York to advance the success of women in commercial real estate by providing scholarships and mentoring to young women entering or interested in CRE as a career; conducting career and community outreach; and supporting CREW Network Foundation’s philanthropic activities, as well as other nonprofit organizations serving women and girls.

CREW New York, a chapter of the CREW Network (Commercial Real Estate Women’s Network), provides its members with direct access to more than 10,000 commercial real estate professionals in more than 70 major global markets. CREW New York encompasses the legacy organization of the Association of Real Estate Women (AREW), founded in 1978, and New York Commercial Real Estate Women’s Network (NYCREW), founded in late 2001. CREW New York is the single networking powerhouse helping women in commercial real estate to do business together.

Individual tickets for the gala will be $650 for CREW members, $750 for non-members. A limited number of sponsorship packages, which include event tickets, journal ads and marketing privileges, on the Titanium, Platinum, Gold and Silver levels are still available.
