Pizzarotti Appoints Martin S. Hirko VP and Project Executive

Pizzarotti, LLC is pleased to announce that Martin S. Hirko has joined the company as Vice President and Project Executive. In his role with Pizzarotti, Martin will continue to provide leadership overseeing projects from beginning to end, communicating with staff on business strategies and managing day-to-day operations.

Martin S. Hirko is a seasoned construction industry veteran with a diverse background that spans infrastructure, energy, financial and commercial offices, cultural centers and healthcare and pharmaceutical projects. He has extensive experience in supervising large-scale construction sites through completion as a Project Executive and implements an effective approach overseeing from the client’s point of view.

High-profile projects Martin has managed include the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, an $867 million project on a 42-acre site in Athens, Greece; the modernization of Coney Island Hospital; and several New York City Economic Development Corp. (NYCEDC) commissioned projects including the National Lighthouse Museum and the Pier 79 Ferry Terminal.

In 2008, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation selected Martin as the Project Manager for the Renzo Piano-designed Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in Athens, Greece, which is LEED Platinum Certified, and has been awarded the Merit Award (British Safety Council International Safety Awards), International Project of the Year (UK Building Awards) and the Global Best Practices Award (Engineering News Record). Martin was involved in every aspect of the project from schematic design through completion, overseeing cost and design management, sustainability coordination and facilities management coordination.
