Jaros, Baum & Bolles (JB&B) is pleased to announce that Gabriel S. Peschiera has joined the firm as Director of Smart Buildings. Mr. Peschiera has extensive experience in building mechanical systems, data analysis, software engineering and electronics hardware product development. The major arc of his career has been the improvement of energy efficiency, thermal comfort and air quality in the built environment, with a focus on new digital technologies for existing buildings.

A Focus on Occupant Comfort for Top Tenant Retention

For Mr. Peschiera and the JB&B team, “Smart Buildings” are about occupant comfort, health and convenience, and the specialized division’s attention on this aspect lends building owners a cutting edge in attracting top tenants in the highly competitive market while minimizing operating costs. By providing the metrics that enable managers to see how buildings are working, JB&B’s Smart Buildings initiative is focused on helping buildings achieve operational transparency in addition to offering more personalized control over the built environment. Mr. Peschiera is helping JB&B clients implement new technologies, driving innovation in design and integration of building systems to ensure the best possible experience for building occupants.

Prior to JB&B, Mr. Peschiera was co-founder and CEO of Envairo, a venture-backed startup that developed HVAC control software and hardware to maximize thermal comfort and air quality in commercial buildings. Before Envairo, he worked as Director of Engineering at Ecorithm, a software company that analyzes BMS data to identify and diagnose issues in building mechanical systems and consulted for major commercial owners in New York City and internationally. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture as well as Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering, all from Columbia University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New York.
