R New York Hosts Successful First Annual Charity Poker Tournament!

11/1/18

On October 24, 2018, R New York had a “full house” at its first annual charity poker tournament, hosting 75 players in an evening to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Held at the 3 West Club in New York City, the tournament’s first place winner Thissa de Silva received a seat in the 2019 World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas.

The Wounded Warrior Project is a charity and veterans service organization which offers a variety of programs, services and events for wounded veterans of the military actions following September 11, 2001. R New York, one of New York City’s fastest growing brokerages founded by Army veteran Richard Friedman and led by President Stefani Berkin, has been a long-time supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project. In 2015, the firm committed to a sponsorship program for recently returning U.S. armed forces veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. The program provided tuition for a complete course at a licensed real estate school in New York City and opportunities for employment to those vets passing the New York State examinations.

The evening’s sponsors included Arkin Solbakken LLP; ACT Academy for Coaching and Training; AGMB; Capuder Fazio Giacoia LLP; CoStar; Fensterstock Law PLLC; Legion; Marks Paneth; netstream; OLR; Premier Commission; PropertyShark.com; Riverside Abstract; Silver Fin Capital; Roadway Moving.
