HDSA and ArchCare’s “Team Hope Walk – Hudson Valley” Raises $35,000 for Huntington’s Disease

11/5/18

During the third annual Team Hope Walk – Hudson Valley, 170 community members crossed the Walkway Over the Hudson raising $35,000 in support of people in the Hudson Valley with Huntington’s Disease (HD). Sponsored by ArchCare at Ferncliff Nursing Home and the Center for Neurodegenerative Care at ArchCare at Ferncliff in Rhinebeck, along with the Huntington’s Disease Society of America, the Sunday, October 28, event brought together (from the left) Alicia O’Keefe, ArchCare; State Sen. Sue Serino R-Hyde Park, who recognized HD advocate and barer James DelCarpio with a proclamation for his community service and international HD awareness social media challenge, #StopDropAndPlank4HD; and Casey Snyder, Huntington's Disease Society of America. HD is fatal genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of the brain’s nerve cells and affects an estimated 30,000 Americans. www.hdsa.org/thwhudsonvalley.com.
