Tomasita Sherer, a member of DLA Piper’s Litigation practice, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of The New York Women’s Foundation (NYWF), a foundation dedicated to supporting nonprofit women’s organizations.

Established in 1987, NYWF has provided millions of dollars to organizations and programs within the five boroughs of New York City that support community-led solutions to propel women and girls towards long-term economic security. The foundation advances its goals of promoting economic, gender and racial justice for women and families through strategic grant-making and by engaging women in civic participation and leadership.

Sherer is an experienced litigator who focuses on commercial dispute resolution involving business torts, contracts and employment issues, representing companies in a broad range of industries including energy, media and entertainment, and insurance.
