Mark M. Elliott
Phillips Nizer Litigation Co-Chair Mark M. Elliott has been appointed by the New York State Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department to be a member of the Committee on Character and Fitness for the Ninth Judicial District.
Mark has a long history of service in the legal community. He served a three-year term as a member of the Antitrust and Trade Regulation Committee of the New York City Bar Association; served for years as the Chair of the City of White Plains Board of Ethics; served on the White Plains Judicial Review Committee; and is a member of the Lawyers Committee of the Inner-City Scholarship Fund. Prior to his legal career, Mark served as National President of the College Democrats.
Mark represents a wide client base with a focus on the financial services industry in complex business litigations. His cases include an eight-week jury trial for the County of Westchester, resulting in a verdict for the County that saved taxpayers over $30 million. Mark also has handled cases involving the Republic of Iraq, Bernard Madoff and Enron, among other high-profile matters. Mark is also the Litigation Group Co-Chair of Ally Law, an international alliance of over 60 law firms (ally-law.com).
