Jonathan L. Mechanic, chairman of the Real Estate Department at the international law firm Fried Frank, was honored by The Metropolitan Museum of Art during its 24th annual Real Estate Council Benefit for his commitment and generosity to cultural organizations. The event held at the Museum on November 7, 2019, was co-chaired by the 2019 Benefit Committee, which includes Bruce A. Beal, Jr., Jeff T. Blau, Daniel Brodsky, Ric Clark, William C. Rudin and Alan H. Wiener. This year, the Benefit raised a record-breaking $2.58 million to support the Museum’s educational mission.
Mr. Brodsky, who is also Chairman of The Met noted, “For the past four decades, Jon has distinguished himself as a true leader in our field. In addition to his many achievements in the area of real estate transactions, he also serves the community by generously donating his time to many philanthropic organizations. Through his example, he has demonstrated a deep understanding of the importance of education, which is the very essence of this award.”
“I am honored to receive this tremendous recognition from The Real Estate Council,” said Mr. Mechanic. “I am committed to sustaining our cultural institutions and all that The Met offers to the public, and pledge to continue that tradition alongside my colleagues in the real estate industry.”
