Company Well Positioned To Capitalize On Renewable Energy Production Opportunities
U.S. Light Energy announces its support for President Biden’s recent executive actions that prioritize the global climate crisis as the center of US foreign policy and national security, committing to a government-wide approach to addressing the crisis, and affirming the use of federal resources to impact change.
On Wednesday, January 27, President Biden issued the “Executive Order on Tackling the Climate Crisis at Home and Abroad,” positioning the United States as a leader in the fight against climate change, and the movement towards clean renewable energy. U.S. Light Energy, as a leading community solar developer, has long been committed to achieving these same objectives, and fully supports the President’s action.
The order, which can be read in full at https://www.whitehouse.gov/
- Achieve net-zero emissions, economy-wide, by no later than 2050.
- Achieve a carbon pollution-free electricity sector no later than 2035.
- Ensuring clean and zero-emission vehicle fleets for Federal, State, local, and Tribal governments, including vehicles of the United States Postal Service.
- Pausing all oil and gas leases on public lands and ending fossil fuel subsidies.
“These goals are incredibly aggressive, but they are entirely necessary if we hope to avoid the dire consequences of global climate change. To meet them will require bold action, particularly in the development of distributed, community supported renewable energy generation facilities, through public-private partnerships,” said Mark Richardson, CEO of U.S. Light Energy. “As a leading Community Solar Project Developer, with a portfolio of more than 250MW of active projects and a history or successful development, we are uniquely positioned to capitalize on this opportunity, and have a positive impact towards these goals.”
