-- Garth Greenan Gallery relocating to ground floor of 547 West 20th Street –
Eastern Consolidated’s Retail Leasing Division has arranged a 10-year, 4,400-square-foot lease in a retail condo unit on the ground floor of 547 West 20th Street in West Chelsea for Garth Greenan Gallery, which is relocating from a tenth floor gallery in a building on the same block.
Eastern Consolidated Senior Director Brad Cohen, and Associate Director Jon Kamali, exclusively represented the owner of the retail condo, which is split into two retail units. The tenant was represented by Susan B. Anthony of Susan B. Anthony Real Estate.

“This is an ideal location for Garth Greenan Gallery, steps from its current site and near a dynamic mix of leading art galleries including the internationally acclaimed David Zwirner Gallery directly next door,” Cohen said. “It’s also steps from an entrance to the High Line, the High Line Hotel, Chelsea Piers, and a few blocks from the Super Pier, the retail, restaurant, and office complex being developed by Youngwoo & Associates and RXR Realty that has already locked in Google and Anthony Bourdain Food Hall as anchor tenants.”
The ground floor space features 13-foot high ceilings and was previously occupied by Elizabeth Dee Gallery and earlier used by the Friends of the High Line as the site of their pop-up art exhibition titled ‘Pier 54,’ which featured works by 27 female artists.
Kamali added, “We’re also marketing for lease the second retail condo unit at 547 West 20thStreet, a desirable corner space totaling over 2,800 square feet that enjoys over 100 feet of corner frontage along 11th Avenue and West 20th Street. This space is ideal for an upscale gallery, restaurant, or fitness user seeking to establish a foothold in this highly desirable live/work/play neighborhood that continues to rapidly transform and flourish with new developments.”
In addition to access to the West Side Highway, the retail condo is near the A, C, E and 7 subway lines.
Additional neighborhood highlights include the Art Deco former Bayview Correctional Facility across the street from 547 West 20th Street, which is being redeveloped and converted into offices for nonprofits; the Frank Gehry-designed IAC Building; elite gallerists Gagosian and Pace; and popular restaurants including Danny Meyer’s Porchlight, Morimoto, Toro, and Tenth Avenue Cookshop, among others.
