Merrill Lynch and American Girl Sign Leases at 75 Rockefeller Plaza

6/27/16

Fried Frank acted as counsel to RXR Realty, as landlord, in its 124,000 square-foot lease at 75 Rockefeller Plaza to Bank of America subsidiary Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner& Smith Incorporated. RXR acquired a 99 year ground lease of the building in 2012.

The building, previously occupied in full by Time Warner, is undergoing a gut renovation by RXR, and Merrill is the first office tenant to sign a lease in the renovated building. The Firm also represented RXR in a 40,000 square foot lease signed in May of nearly all of the building’s retail space to Mattel subsidiary American Girl for its new flagship store.

The Fried Frank team for the Merrill lease included real estate partner Meyer Last, real estate special counsel Jill Hayman, and real estate associate Michael E. Hofer. The team for the American Girl lease included real estate partner Meyer Last and real estate associate Valerie L. Kelly.
