New service will allow DeSimone to continue to serve clients well after design and construction support services have been completed

DeSimone Consulting Engineers recently appointed Charles P. Meade as Director of its new Property Loss Consulting service. Mr. Meade is a successful and distinguished leader who will oversee the strategic growth and management of the day-to-day operation of the firm's domestic and international PLC team, encompassing both pre- and post-loss services. The firm's new PLC division will allow DeSimone to assist existing clients long after its design and construction support services have been completed.

During the past 15 years, Mr. Meade has consulted on numerous projects ranging from the everyday to the catastrophic. He has developed and managed teams responding to hurricanes, tornadoes, structural collapses, building envelope and curtain wall failures, fires, and a variety of other common and complex property loss scenarios. He has worked on projects totaling in excess of $2.7 billion in more than 18 countries.

Mr. Meade will be responsible for the development and expansion of the firm's pre-loss risk assessment and mitigation programs for natural and man-made hazards, focusing on providing clients with strategies to offset both physical and financial risks. As the leader of the firm's post-loss effort, he is also responsible for the management and oversight of all facets of project-related forensic work performed on behalf of insurance companies, their representative attorneys, and independent executive adjusters, relating to the investigation, analysis, documentation and mitigation of first-party property loss, construction defect, builders' risk, surety, E&O, casualty and general liability claims.

Mr. Meade received a bachelor's degree in architecture, summa cum laude, from the New York Institute of Technology; a bachelor's degree in business administration, magna cum laude, in both finance and pre-law, from Adelphi University. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Loss Executives Association, Property Loss Research Bureau, and other industry-related organizations.
