Eatery Backed by Lordz of Brooklyn member, “Kaves” and Brooklyn restaurateur, Ray Medina, to bring authentic Brooklyn concept to Bay Ridge
Cushman & Wakefield today announced that Mitzi Flexer, Director, and Alan Napack, Senior Director, represented both ownership, Workable City Development, and tenant, the Brooklyn Firefly, in a 3,500 square foot lease for indoor and outdoor restaurant space at 7003 Third Avenue in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
The Brooklyn Firefly, backed by world-renowned artist and Bay Ridge native, Michael "Kaves" McLeer and Brooklyn restaurateur, Ray Medina, will occupy 2,000 square feet of indoor space and 1,500 of outdoor space in what was formerly the home of well-known eateries, Yellow Hook Grille and Lento’s. The operators—both Bay Ridge locals—will offer patrons an authentic Brooklyn experience in a casual setting featuring live music and a place for local artists to display artwork. The menu will consist of pizza, beers from area brewers, in addition to a wide range of wines and liquors.
“The location presented the principals with an ideal opportunity to bring an authentic Brooklyn concept back to Bay Ridge, a neighborhood both Kaves and Ray know very well due to their deep roots in the area. The space is located on a high visibility corner and is perfectly suited for a restaurant.” said Alan Napack. “The Bay Ridge retail market is in the midst of a resurgence and we’re seeing a robust amount of interest, especially when you consider the neighborhood’s value compared to Park Slope and Williamsburg.” said Mitzi Flexer.
"My partner and I wanted to draw from the heritage and the legacy of this location to create a place in our neighborhood where people can cultivate their love of music, art, and pizza. It's the culmination of years of us living, working, and evolving in this neighborhood. Now we're giving back to it. It's going to be a labor of love, operated by ourselves and our families. We're so proud to begin this and give this place to Bay Ridge," said Kaves.
