CBRE Group, Inc. announced that Alex Virtue has joined CBRE Capital Advisors as senior managing director. Based in Los Angeles, Mr. Virtue will expand CBRE’s investment banking advisory capabilities while providing coverage in the West.

Mr. Virtue is an accomplished real estate investment banker with more than 15 years of experience at leading financial institutions. His extensive public capital markets transaction background includes initial public equity and debt offerings, public securities follow-on offerings, private placements, joint ventures, sell-side and buy-side M&A advisory and real estate valuation.

Most recently, Mr. Virtue was a Managing Director at Eastdil Secured/Wells Fargo’s real estate investment banking group where he led West Coast investment banking coverage. During his tenure at Eastdil, he managed and advised on more than $20 billion of public securities offerings, financial advisory and joint venture transactions on behalf of public and private real estate clients. Prior to Eastdil, Mr. Virtue was a Director at Lowe Enterprises in Los Angeles and previously was a Director at Merrill Lynch & Co. in New York and most recently in Los Angeles, where he led the firm’s real estate investment banking business on the West Coast.

Mr. Virtue is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego and received his MBA in finance and real estate from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Virtue is a member of NAREIT, a licensed real estate broker in the State of California, and holds FINRA Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses.
