- The 53-Story, Full-Service Luxury Rental Tower is the First in Brooklyn’s Cultural District-
Gotham Organization, Inc., announced today that leasing is set to launch for The Ashland, a new, full-service luxury rental tower located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn – the first tower to rise in Brooklyn’s Cultural District. Designed by FXFOWLE, with interiors by SPAN Architecture, the 53-story tower will consist of 586 units.
The apartment mix includes studios to three-bedroom units ranging approximately $2,600 for a studio to $7,500 for a three-bedroom apartment. The Ashland offers beautifully appointed residences that feature central air, floor-to-ceiling windows in all bedrooms, plank wood floors, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and Bosch dishwashers and washer/dryers (available in all two and three-bedroom units).
“We are thrilled to launch leasing for this exceptional rental building that brings unprecedented access to a new standard of living in Downtown Brooklyn and Fort Greene,” David L. Picket, president of Gotham Organization. “The Ashland offers residents an impressive amenity package, including Gotham Market at The Ashland right downstairs. Coupled with its easy access to multiple transportation options and Fort Greene Park, this building truly provides an unparalleled living experience in the center of Brooklyn’s Cultural District.”
The Ashland was carefully designed and embodies the synthesis of Downtown’s commercial magnetism and Fort Greene’s residential charisma, a direct reflection of its site. The materials used were carefully selected to reflect the culmination of neighborhoods, culture, and lifestyle.
“We wanted The Ashland to be a marriage of past and present,” said Gustavo Rodriguez, principal for FXFOWLE. “The building’s solidity and coloration is rooted historic Fort Greene; its planar composition of glass and masonry is clearly contemporary, and the result is a statuesque presence on the Brooklyn Skyline."
The Ashland’s amenities include a 24-hour attended lobby, bike storage and stroller parking. The third floor amenity terrace includes a gym*, fitness studio*, children’s play lab, resident lounge*, outdoor movie screening area*, demo kitchen*, and outdoor bar area*. The 53rd floor rooftop sunrise and sunset terraces* afford breathtaking views of both Manhattan and Downtown Brooklyn and include a billiard room*, screening room*, outdoor lounge area* and chaise lounge chairs*. (*Additional fees apply for access).
Situated on the ground floor of the building is Gotham Market at The Ashland, the first of its kind marketplace in the neighborhood. Gotham Market at The Ashland will build upon the critical success of Gotham West Market. The 17,000 square foot market will offer eight distinct dining and drinking venues, including a pop-up space with a rotating selection of local chefs and restaurateurs throughout the year.
The Brooklyn cultural district is anchored by the BAM Harvey Theater, BAM Rose Cinemas, Barclays Center and Fort Greene Park. The neighborhood also features additional performance venues, including BRIC, the leading presenter of free cultural programming in Brooklyn, and the Theatre For a New Audience (TFANA). The building is located minutes away from eleven subway lines (B,C,D,N,Q,R,2,3,4,5,G) and Atlantic Terminal, with access to the LIRR.
