-- Barber Shop & Men’s Apothecary Product-maker Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Sixth Location --

Fellow Barber, innovators in the world of men’s grooming and personal care, has officially opened at Chelsea Market on the heels of its 10th anniversary in business. This is the barbershop’s sixth location in total, with four in New York City and two in San Francisco.

The shop will occupy an approximately 400-square-foot space in Chelsea Market with four chairs. As with all of their locations, Fellow Barber will offer their original, specially-crafted line of men’s grooming products and have expertly trained talent on staff.

“We’re proud to be part of such a great institution like Chelsea Market,” said Sam Buffa, Founder of Fellow Barber. “As always, Fellow Barber is excited to provide great services to a new neighborhood. This shop really takes us back to our roots on Freeman's Alley with our first shop in 2006 – the intimacy and layout are similar and should inspire great community.”

Since opening on Manhattan’s Lower East Side ten years ago, Buffa – whose team has trained some of the best barber talent in the city – aims to provide a service-focused, contemporary client experience. TheFellow Barber concept is the answer to this “barber culture” and offers patrons another option between inexpensive, low-quality grooming and the high-end, oft-expensive salon experience.

Fellow Barber’s Chelsea Market location will operate Monday – Friday 9am to 8pm and Saturday – Sunday10am to 6pm. In addition to their standard walk-ins welcome policy, Fellow Barber is now accepting online appointments for added client convenience through their website: www.fellowbarber.com.

Including its new Chelsea Market location, Fellow Barber shops can be found in New York City in SoHo, the West Village and Williamsburg, Brooklyn; and in San Francisco in Mid Market and Mission District.

About Fellow Barber

Fellow Barber believes in and celebrates the barbering tradition. Since opening in 2006 in Downtown New York City, the company has grown independently to multiple locations in New York, the West Coast and Detroit and has over 100 employees. Fellow Barber is built on people, style and skill. Each one of their shops embodies the individuality of its staff, and from location to location you will find a consistent quality, but individualistic style aesthetics that is inspired by the neighborhoods in which they reside as well as their diverse clientele. When Fellow Barber opened, what we know now as “contemporary barber culture” didn’t really exist, and the first shop was created from necessity. The company wanted to provide an elevated and relevant sense of style with their barbering service at a $40 price point and a convenient, walk-in wait list. Since then Fellow Barber has nearly single handedly spawned a new barbering subculture, raised the overall barbering wage nationwide, and created hundreds of jobs by elevating this craft of barbering.

Along the way, they developed their own grooming product line, which is now being sold in barbershops and retailers worldwide, offering a full range of expertly crafted, professional quality grooming products for use in the home. Fellow Barber hair products are designed to work for the majority of contemporary men’s hair styles, while their shave products work well with any type of wet shaving razor, from straight edge to the newest, multi-blade disposable. As part of their commitment to quality craftsmanship, all of Fellow Barber’s products are made in the USA and are paraben and sulfate free. Scents include frankincense, galbanum, vetiver, sage, cypress, fennel, sandalwood, cedar and guiacwood. All of the company’s hair, styling and shave formulas have been developed in accordance with our own barbers’ strict standards, to provide top-shelf products that evoke the experience of visiting one of their barbershops.
