With Signing of International Organization, Fisher Brothers has Secured Over 260,000 SF of Leases Since Completing Renovation of Iconic Midtown East Tower
Fisher Brothers announced today that it has signed a new 19,871-square-foot lease with the Turkish Consulate General in New York at 605 Third Avenue, its modernized 1.1 million-square-foot, Class-A office tower in Midtown Manhattan.
The Turkish Consulate General in New York, which implements its diplomatic duties and services on behalf of the Republic of Turkey across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware, will relocate from 825 Third Avenue to the entire 30th floor of 605 Third Avenue in July 2018.
“ 605 Third Avenue’s close proximity to the United Nations makes it the ideal location for the Turkish Consulate General, which will also benefit from Fisher Brothers’ commitment to providing the finest quality buildings and highest level of service to our tenants,” said Fisher Brothers Partner Ken Fisher.
The Turkish Consulate General was represented by John Wheeler and Damla Barrett of JLL. Fisher Brothers was represented in-house by Marc S. Packman and Charles P. Laginestra, as well as by Louis D’Avanzo and Maria Travlos of Cushman & Wakefield.
Since completing a wide-ranging $25 million capital improvement program at 605 Third Avenue, Fisher Brothers has successfully completed 260,000 square feet of leases at the tower. These signings include a 50,391-square-foot lease with the Permanent Mission of Japan to occupy the entire 27th, 28th, and 29th floors and a 19,110-square-foot lease with the Permanent Mission and Consulate General of Finland to occupy the entire 35th floor of the building.
Designed by David Rockwell and the Rockwell Group, the centerpiece of the renovation project was the creation of a brand new building entrance and a more spacious and inviting lobby, highlighted by a sleek feature wall composed of brass panels. In addition, David Rockwell and the LAB at Rockwell Group worked with Fisher Brothers to install two oversized digital glass windows in the lobby that are designed to function as giant kaleidoscopes and serve as a form of public art.
To further enhance the tenant experience, Fisher Brothers recently announced that it is partnering with Convene, the nation’s fastest growing office services provider, to create a tenant amenity space and conference center at 605 Third Avenue. The seventh floor space, which will be serviced by Convene’s roster of world-class hospitality professionals, will feature a variety of meeting spaces, a gourmet café, tenant access to an outdoor terrace and comfortable lounge seating areas.
Originally built by Fisher Brothers in 1963, 605 Third Avenue is certified LEED Gold by the U.S. Green Building Council for its highly efficient and environmentally sustainable working environment. Located in close proximity to Grand Central Terminal, the tower’s esteemed tenant roster includes Informa, Univision, AECOM, David Hutcher & Citron LLP, and the United Nations Population Fund.
