VillageOne, Fashion, Photography and Creative Coworking Space, Opens First Location in SoHo

10/8/18

Fashion and photography creatives have a new home in SoHo. Known as VillageOne, this fresh, one-stop-shop location will serve as a comprehensive coworking space for freelance professionals in the fashion, design and photography sectors. VillageOne has signed a 4,000-square-foot lease at 594 Broadway making it the first and only location of the firm’s coworking spaces in New York.

“Creative freelancers like flexibility in their workspaces, however they do not find value in the ubiquity, frequent distractions and general one-size-fits-all mindset that comes with traditional coworking spaces,” said Ms. Vivienne Yang, Founder and CEO of VillageOne. “Our new space at 594 Broadway provides these professionals with a cohesive and synergistic environment where they can conveniently collaborate with like-minded colleagues. Additionally, this location solves certain logistical pain points, particularly for fashion photographers, by providing all the equipment, materials and studio space needs under one roof.”

VillageOne, founded in 2018 by Ms. Yang, is a coworking concept designed for aspiring and experienced professionals in the fashion and photography fields. Memberships, offered on both a monthly and annual basis, include full use of creative working spaces, private meeting rooms, professional networking events, complementary artisanal refreshments and 24-hour access. VillageOne’s SoHo location also features a professional photo studio equipped with top-of-the-line Profoto lightings, a private bathroom and makeup room allowing the facility to serve a variety of needs from personal projects to commercial productions.

Elliot Warren of The Kaufman Organization represented the tenant in the transaction while Donna Vogel represented the landlord, GFP, in-house. Asking rent in the transaction was $65-per-square-foot.

“We scoured the markets of Union Square, Flatiron and SoHo to find the best location for VillageOne’s first venue in New York City,” said Mr. Warren. “Once we visited 594 Broadway, we knew it was the perfect place. The space features high ceilings allowing in ample light and a vibrant energy that is sure to inspire the creative professionals who will be working here.”

Erected in 1897, 594 Broadway is a 12-story, 210,900-square-foot brick office building situated in the premier shopping district of SoHo. The property features high ceilings, wood floors and recently renovated lobby and elevators. The building is easily accessible via the 6, B, F, D, M, R and W trains.
