Annual holiday fundraiser benefits those in need of cancer treatment and services
Douglas Elliman Real Estate, the largest brokerage in the New York Metropolitan area and the second largest independent residential real estate brokerage in the United States by sales volume, is pleased to announce that its Long Island division raised $65,257 during its annual Holiday Fundraiser this past December, donating the proceeds to the American Cancer Society.
This marks the 11th straight year that the Long Island-based residential real estate brokerage has held a holiday fundraiser for the fight against cancer. Community outreach and philanthropy are deeply ingrained in Elliman’s culture, according to Ann Conroy, President of Douglas Elliman Long Island.
"The holiday fundraiser was a huge success, not only in donations, but in the true spirit of giving and family that was on full display," Conroy said. "Our managers and agents volunteered countless hours to making this a huge success."
“The donated funds will be used to aid those who are affected by cancer, here on Long Island and across the region,” said Marie Cimaglia, Director of Community Development for the American Cancer Society. “The dollars raised by Douglas Elliman enable us to be there for people who are touched by cancer on Long Island and beyond, whether they’re currently dealing with a diagnosis, may face one in the future, or will avoid it altogether because of risk reduction efforts,” she said.
