RIPCO Real Estate’s Lindsay Zegans and Richard Skulnik Secure Lease for International Name in Men’s Grooming

RIPCO Real Estate (RIPCO) announced today that Chaps & Co, one of the premier men’s grooming experts in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has signed an 821-square-foot, 10-year lease to open a barbershop at 1165 Broadway in NoMad. Set to open in May or June 2020 near Madison Square Park, the shop will be the brand’s first United States location. RIPCO’s Lindsay Zegans and Richard Skulnik represented Chaps & Co in the transaction and were instrumental in bringing the renowned grooming brand to the US for the first time. Amira Yunis and Anthony Stanford of CBRE represented the landlord.

“Chaps & Co relied on our expertise to introduce its brand, known throughout Dubai and Abu Dhabi as a leader in men’s grooming, to Manhattan. We were able to identify the ideal location in NoMad for Chaps & Co’s first US outpost,” said Zegans.

“Five years ago, men were going to unisex salons but the modern man was beginning to take an unprecedented interest in his grooming. We saw an opportunity to disrupt the grooming market for men by rolling out our brand, first across the UAE and now in New York City, where the men’s grooming market is starting to thrive,” said Jordan Davies, the British-born founder of Chaps & Co.
