Avison Young welcomes renowned real estate veteran to strengthen firm’s Property Management Group

Mitti Liebersohn,President and Managing Director of Avison Young’s New York City Operations, today announced the strategic hiring of Dennis Sherry as Senior Portfolio Manager of the firm’s Real Estate Management Group.

Sherry brings nearly two decades of experience across all areas of property and facilities management, including specialized expertise in property portfolio planning, development, due diligence, deal-sourcing and negotiations andasset management.

Sherry’s extensive experience includes managinga variety of client real estate portfolios, each with up to 50 properties and budgets peaking at $54 million. Hejoins Avison Young after years of working for many of the country’s top real estate companies including Newmark Knight Frank, CBRE, Jones Lang LaSalle and The Rockefeller Development Group.

Sherry’s noteworthy career achievements include overseeing the Lehman Brothers portfolio of owned/leased properties across Manhattan for The Rockefeller Group as well as leading CBRE’s Asset Services Group, where he supported 15 property managers accountable for 22 commercial office properties across the New York Citymarket. During his time in Newmark Knight Frank, Sherry drove annual gross revenue of $60 million and managed $45 million in payroll and $15 million in management service fees.

Sherry graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and has completed master’s-level courses at New York University’s Real Estate Program.He is also a Board Member of Fanwood’s Planning & Zoning Board and is a member of both BOMA and REBNY.
