Rachel Sha of Douglas Elliman Port Washington, along with New York Senator Anna M. Kaplan and Huang Ping, Consul General of the Peoples Republic of China, participated in an "Open for Business" gathering of government and community leaders on Saturday, February 22.

The event, held at New Fu Run Restaurant in Great Neck, was held in order to highlight and support local Asian American-owned businesses. According to information provided by Senator Kaplan’s office, Asian American owned businesses in Long Island have been reporting significant adverse effects—in the range of 40-percent to 70-percent downturns—due to the spread of the coronavirus, despite the fact that there have been no confirmed cases of the virus in New York.

Ms. Sha is a seasoned associated broker and top producer for Douglas Elliman. She has repeatedly won the Chairman's Circle Platinum award and has been named as one of America's Best Real Estate Agent by REAL Trends, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. A native of Shanghai, China, the long-time resident of Long Island and Manhattan is graduate of Cornell University, with a background in risk management, specializing in finance and wealth management. She is a former trustee for the Museum of Chinese in American and the Queens Botanical Gardens and is currently the vice president of the Parent Teacher Students Association at Great Neck South High School and a Long Island member of Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network.
