Port and Edeen join more than 600 Principals at leading Principal-owned and -led global commercial real estate firm

Avison Young has named two new Principals in the firm’s New York City office. Robert Slaughter, Chief Legal Officer, announced that Elissa Port, Legal Counsel, is now a Principal, and Mitti Liebersohn, President and Managing Director of Avison Young’s New York City Operations, announced that Erik Edeen, Director of Tri-State Investment Sales Operations, has been named a Principal.

The distinction marks an important milestone at the leading Principal-owned and -led global commercial real estate firm. As a private and Principal-led organization, the firm’s culture is built on collaboration and taking a longer-term view to meet client needs.

“We’re very pleased that Elissa and Erik are being recognized for their accomplishments by being named Principals in our New York City office,” Liebersohn said. “Elissa has been at the forefront of Avison Young’s expansion, including last year’s acquisition of UK-based GVA, while Erik has been responsible for increasing the scale of our Tri-State Investment Sales Division.”

Port, who joined Avison Young in 2018, specializes in corporate transactional matters and acts as a liaison to Avison Young’s international offices. “I am proud to become a Principal and look forward to contributing to Avison Young’s continued success,” Port said.

Slaughter added, “Elissa is a very talented transactional attorney who has been a great addition to the Avison Young legal function. She is a key contributor to execution of Avison Young’s growth strategy.”

Edeen joined Avison Young in 2014 and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the 36-person Tri-State Investment Sales Division.
