Helmsley Spear, LLC, America’s oldest continuously operating real estate firm founded in 1866, has announced that Alan Weisman has joined the firm as an Executive Managing Director to focus on industrial, logistical, and retail leasing and sales as well as commercial office leasing. He specializes in office and industrial tenants and owners, primarily in emerging and secondary areas of Manhattan and the Tri-State area.
Mr. Weisman brings over 35 years of experience in commercial real estate to his role, being involved in more than 7 million square feet of transactions through the course of his career. Prior to joining Helmsley Spear, Mr. Weisman served as Executive Managing Director at Lee & Associates, where he was awarded the honor of Top Producer of 2016.
Mr. Weisman arranged the land sale under the Chelsea Arts Tower, and then sold 15 commercial condominium spaces in the tower before the 75,000 square foot building was complete, resulting in Mr. Weisman being awarded 2nd place for the REBNY Deal of the Year in 2008. In addition, Mr. Weisman spent more than two decades with Grubb & Ellis as a Senior Managing Director following the sale of his company, N. Peter Burton, where he represented the Pepsi Cola Metropolitan Bottling Company throughout the U.S.

Mr. Weisman graduated from New York University where he earned his BA in Business Administration. From 1983 to 1991, he was an Adjunct Professor at NYU School of Professional Studies where he taught Advanced Real Estate Broker Licensing.
