Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations Announces Promotion of Robert Schwartz to Executive Vice President

The Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations (RAB) today announced the promotion of Robert Schwartz to Executive Vice President. In his new role, Robert will be responsible for supervising RAB staff attorneys, advising RAB members on labor and employment matters, handling grievances and arbitration, as well as serving as a trustee on various RAB funds administered in coordination with 32BJ and Local 94.

“Robert is an exceptional attorney with a deep understanding of management and labor relations,” said Howard Rothschild, President of the Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations. “Over the years, Robert has been instrumental in negotiating contracts, working through arbitration issues and building our relationship with 32BJ for the benefit of all. While these are unprecedented times for all, we have no doubt that Robert will continue to be a leader in our organization moving forward.”

“Robert has proven himself as a leader of our industry, advising our members on various labor issues and coming up with innovative solutions to complex challenges,” said John Santora, Chairman New York Tri-State Region at Cushman & Wakefield and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations. “In particular, over the last few months while our industry has faced challenges we’ve never seen, Robert has worked diligently to help craft agreements that keep buildings running and employees safe.”

“I appreciate the confidence that RAB has placed in me to take on these added responsibilities,” said Robert Schwartz, Executive Vice President of the Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations. “Over the years it has been an honor to learn and grow under Howard’s leadership. As we enter a period of great change, I look forward to continuing to work with the RAB members to constructively move our industry forward for both employers and employees.”

Robert’s practice focuses on the representation of employers and management in all areas of labor and employment relations. He has represented employers in state and federal court employment litigation, arbitrations, and administrative proceedings, including claims of unlawful discrimination, harassment, breach of contract, wage and hour violations, and tort claims. Robert also has experience representing clients in disputes arising from collective bargaining relationships and in advising clients on compliance with applicable labor laws. In addition, Robert has represented clients in matters involving violations of the securities laws, derivative actions, and fiduciary responsibilities.

Robert has been with the RAB as a staff attorney since June 2015. Prior to joining the RAB, Robert was an associate in the Labor and Employment Law Department of Proskauer Rose LLP. Robert received his Bachelor of Arts, with Honors in the Liberal Arts, from The Ohio State University in 2000. He received his law degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2003, where he served as an Articles Editor for the Cardozo Journal of International and Comparative Law.
