On September 26, 2020, Douglas Elliman, one of the largest independent residential real estate brokerages in the United States, will host the eighth annual Ride for Love to benefit God’s Love We Deliver, New York’s leading provider of nutritious, individually-tailored meals for people who are too sick to shop or cook for themselves. Douglas Elliman has raised over one million dollars for God’s Love We Deliver, which translates into more than 100,000 home-cooked meals for those in need.
“It is my pleasure to announce that the eighth annual Ride for Love will move forward,” said Scott Durkin, president and chief operating officer of Douglas Elliman and a member of the board of directors at God’s Love We Deliver. “The COVID-19 pandemic and its devastating effect on New York has given rise to more than 3,000 new clients of God’s Love We Deliver. We felt it was imperative to continue to help combat hunger across the New York City metropolitan area and I am enormously proud of every agent and staff member taking part.”
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s ride has been reimagined to allow more members of the Elliman community to take part in a variety of ways and locations. Riders may choose to ride 25, 50 or 100 miles in a location of their choice in small, socially distanced groups of no more than ten people. They may also choose to ride at home on a stationary bike.
In addition, SoulCycle, the globally recognized, inspirational fitness experience, has dedicated its Hudson Yards location to allow 40 riders to take part in a socially distanced, 45 minute outdoor class led by one of their popular instructors.
All riders are expected to raise at least $1,000.
60 Elliman agents and staff are expected to ride this year.

Bridget Harvey, founder of The Harvey Team at Douglas Elliman in New York City, will be the ride director again this year, overseeing all volunteers, fundraising initiatives and ride logistics for the partnership between God’s Love and Elliman.
