Dentons Cardenas & Cardenas Expands in Colombia

Four years since the combination with Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, Dentons Cardenas & Cardenas has expanded its presence in Colombia, opening a new office in Medellín. This year Dentons has announced 22 new offices around the world in an environment where other law firms are standing still, contracting or withdrawing from key markets.

Dentons now has more offices in all of Latin America and the Caribbean than any other law firm making it the first truly Pan-Latin American and the Caribbean law firm capable of serving clients in 25 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean and 189 locations across 77 countries around the world.

Medellín is the capital of Antioquia with a population of over 2.5 million. It is Colombia´s second largest economic hub contributing 14.6% to Colombia's GDP, which was USD$323.8 billion in 2019. Its main economic activities are textile, financial services, food and beverage, infrastructure, and trade. Medellín's city council created an Agency for International Cooperation and Foreign Investment, which aims to attract USD $850 million of foreign investment between 2020 and 2023, attracting a total of USD $22.8 million in the first four months.
