Bank Introduces Branch-of-the-Future; Reaffirms Commitment to Community with Support for the Arlington Central School District and LaGrange Library

In a small move with a big impact, Tompkins Mahopac Bank will relocate and grand open its LaGrange location in December, a branch-of-the-future and the first of its kind in the area, less than a mile from its previous location, at 673 Freedom Plains Road, Poughkeepsie, New York.
The celebration kicks off with a five-day virtual grand opening event on Tompkins Mahopac Banks’s Facebook page, featuring trivia questions and prize giveaways from local Hudson Valley businesses, each day from December 7 through December 11. The festivities will culminate with a ribbon cutting with the bank leadership team on December 15 and initiatives that support education and much-needed services for children in LaGrange.
Giving Back, Moving Forward
Highlighting its values and deep commitment to the LaGrange community was a $2,500 contribution from Tompkins Mahopac Bank to the Arlington Central School District to provide art supplies for students to receive instruction, even in remote environments. Underscoring this partnership will be a rotating art exhibit from the district’s high school students, on display in the bank’s lobby and vestibule, and permanent pieces from the students in its offices.
As part of the move, Tompkins Mahopac Bank also generously supported the second phase of LaGrange Association Library’s Capital Campaign with a $1,000 donation. The gift will bolster the library’s plans to relocate to a new central location in the Town of LaGrange and contribute to digital equity and lifelong learning by offering free and low-cost access to educational, cultural and career resources that are especially vital in today’s world.

Looking to the Future
Unlike conventional banks with glassed-in tellers and roped-off waiting lines, the forward-thinking branch will feature universal bankers to assist customers with a singular point of contact and provide on-the-spot assistance with deposits, loans, notary services or direct them to a nearby tablet for self-serviceor for product demonstrations. The LaGrange branch will also introduce a cash recycler, which is a secure vault that accepts, authenticates and stores cash, as well as dispenses it in any denomination the customer prefers.
“Implementing this new technology allows us to limit handling of cash, which is important in the current environment, as well as increase speed and convenience of transactions, so that our universal bankers can spend more time doing what they do best – connecting meaningfully with our customers,” said Klein.
