Real Estate and Construction Leaders Discuss Future of the NYC Market at Anchin's Future Forward

The virtual event kicked off with a panel discussion on “Post-Pandemic Predictions – A Look into the Future of New York Real Estate” and was moderated by Jonathan Mechanic, Chairman – Real Estate Department, Fried Frank. The panel discussed the shift to Hudson Yards, the retail industry, diversity issues in the industry and current trends. The panel included:

The second panel of the day discussed “The Future of Office Design: Post-Pandemic Workplace Strategies” and was moderated by David Pfeffer, Partner and Chair of the Construction Group, Tarter Krinsky & Drogin. The panelists each disused how each of their respective companies are creating optimum choices and flexibility for their tenants, strategic “Purpose Built” office space, the health & safety of Design & Construction and Investment Management. The panel included:

Attendees then had the opportunity to choose a real estate focused or an AEC focused panel for the final discussion of the day. For the real estate panel which discussed “The Short and Long Term Effects of COVID on Funding for NYC Real Estate Deals,” moderator Robert Gilman, Partner and Co-Leader of Anchin’s Real Estate Group had panelists share their insights on the effect of the pandemic and sectors that were the most affected, financing, and investor relations. The panel included:

The AEC panel “The Construction Industry Looks Ahead - the Future Outlook for Key Construction and Design Sectors” was moderated by Phillip M. Ross, Partner, Leader of Anchin’s Architecture and Engineering and Construction Industry Groups. During this discussion panelists gave their views on the future outlook, public vs. private, affordable housing and life sciences and health care. The panel included:
