Carpooling app Via announced recently it would expand its service to all of Brooklyn, after having previously served just Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Downtown Brooklyn.
The move comes after the company raised $250 million in September. It has plans for more expansion, including in Europe.
Via got famous in New York for its $5 flat rate rides on the east side of Manhattan during rush hour, which stood in contrast to Uber’s constantly shifting and surging rates.
